When you arrive at the property for your first night, you will be given a welcome pack by the staff which will include some basic toiletries, a local food voucher and some local information. You will be given the opportunity to meet with some key staff members and the other young people should you feel comfortable to do so in the introductory period.
You will live in a shared house, with your own bedroom and en-suite bathroom with access to communal spaces and a large garden. The properties are located in Hoyland. You, alongside the other young people are responsible for maintaining the property and making sure your bedroom is clean and tidy. You are expected to allow staff members to do bedroom checks regularly to ensure that it complies with health and safety regulations, and to make sure you are consistently supported appropriately. We will discuss the expectations from both you and the staff members in the introductory period to ensure you feel respected.
The shared housing offer from four hours per day to 24-7 on-site support dependant on the level of needs of you and the other young people. You will have your own support plan which will be devised initially including higher levels of supervision to determine your strengths and areas you will need to focus on with a view of this being reviewed and an appropriate level of support to be identified. After one week this will be discussed and agreed by the manager of the house, jointly with your social worker. You will have an opportunity to share your wishes and feelings regarding the level of support you feel you need.

We will make sure that you are a safe match with the other young people living in the house.
We want you to learn the skills you need to live independently in the future and have the confidence to do this. We want you to be healthy, happy and be able to engage in our practical workshops to support your development. Everyone is treated with dignity and respect whatever their ability, sexual orientation, gender, age, physical appearance, religion, race or culture.
You will have the opportunity and be encouraged to participate in group activities with the members of staff and other residents. This will include day trips, group workshops and team building activities.
